Haha, nope. Killed itself again when I was halfway done typing my Hard Drive password. Guess it's time for a new laptop. Please note that a new laptop is months away. MONTHS. So, please don't hold your breath for it. If you want a server, ask Alycat to start up a temp. server until I can provide services again.

Okay, so in short: I baked my laptop motherboard in the oven. 200 degrees, 8 minutes. I then put the computer back together. After re-assembling, I powered on the computer and it seemed to be dead still. I decided to try one final time and this time, the Acer logo showed up. The computer was working. I am actually making this post from the laptop. I cannot guarantee that this will be a permanent fix, so I am not going to run the server on this PC anymore. I will not cook the computer for a server. I may play Minecraft, I may play Halo. I will not run the server locally. Never again. I am going to shut the laptop off, put in the regular hard drive, and reboot. There is a good chance the laptop will not reboot again after I shut down. If that occurs, I will use Internet Explorer on my Xbox 360 and make a post. If it DOES work, there will be a reply to this topic. Even if the laptop continues to work, it can easily stop working any second. That's why I'm not doing this overnight running. Never again. I will do whatever I can to preserve the computer for as long as possible. Thank you for reading this, and please accept these statements.

Unfortunately, the server has been crashing. Repeatedly. The server will be down from now until I get the computer repaired. The computer has unfortunately had a GPU failure, and this means the laptop's Motherboard needs to be replaced. This will not be able to happen until Christmas at least. I apologize for the inconvenience, but these events were far beyond my control.

The laptop is still shot folks. Don't get too exited. However, a week old version of the server was able to be obtained on this PC. This means, for now, the server will in fact be online. The IP is just the same as always. I will be trying to get the current server files onto the PC, so don't go building anything crazy. But if you do, I can import larger builds into the main server via MCEdit if needed. IP: mc.chaoticunited.net

Mini-announcement today. When I am able to get a computer suitable for server running, we will be also supporting a few Nuclear District members. This is not a merge by any means, but Nuclear District has closed its Minecraft server. For more info, just go to: http://nucleardistrict.net/forums/topic/607-nd-updates-mc-server-and-more/ I am working on getting a good laptop at the moment, as the 9 desktop computers I have are old and only one can even connect to the internet. That's the same one I've been using this time. Its about half of the laptop, but it's the best I've got at the moment. Please keep in mind, while the laptop ITSELF failed, the hard drive has NOT. That means you wont miss a beat when the server is back up again. I apologies for these issues, and I hope you can stick around during the downtime. Because I have no intentions of ending Chaotic United. Not for years to come anyway. Have a nice day.

The computer hosting the server has officially stopped working. As of now, the monitor does not turn on. Either due to a Montior failure, Video Card/GPU failure, CPU/BIOS failure, or even a full out Motherboard failure to to years of overworking. Whatever the cause may be, I will continue to attempt to get it running again, but there is a good chance that Chaotic United will be a forums-only service for months, even over a year in worst case scenario. I am using an old computer running the worst Operating System ever, but its better than nothing. ANd yep, you guessed it: Windows *ahem*. But this can be good in the fact it is a sort of middle-ground between XP and 7, which could be helpful for.... something later on maybe. I will not be testing its durability with games or even try and get a server running. This machine supposedly stopped playing games when my Dad last used it, so it probably will be only for Internet Access. More updates will be posted as needed. I will download Steam for the sake of contacting those who use it. I will NOT download Skype. Please don't ask. Thank you.

As most of you noticed, there are some serious problems with the Minecraft server. Some problems are being addressed now that are long overdue for fixing. The server will hopefully be migrating to a new hosting service and, possibly, with double the RAM we have now. The server could be down for either several hours or several days. I apologise for the inconvenience.

As you all know, Chaotic United has been run off my local computer for a while. Even dating back to United AlyCraft years ago, it was all on my machine. Never hosted on the web. There was a brief period in which Chaotic District was hosted, but that lasted about a day. Since then, it's been on my computer, except for the recent KaizerCraft merges. But for the next 5 months, these will not be issues anymore. In other words.... WE ARE FINALLY BEING HOSTED!!!! You are probably wondering what fluke allowed that to happen, let me tell you one word: IVORY Ivory has donated 20$ to the server for the purpose of getting us hosted. The money will last for about 5 months. In order to keep us going, please donate before then! Enough donations each month will mean a possible upgrade! Thats all for now. The server IP, mc.chaoticunited.net, will later be forwarded to the new server. Until then the server will be offline.

Those of you from the years old United AlyCraft site may remember needing to grab Hamachi to play. Those networks are online again and I have a plan for them in the future. Possibly a private server of sorts. If you have any ideas for a private/testing server for Hamachi, please offer them. They could be used for plugin testing in the future or anything else needing heavy testing prior to launch in the mainline Minecraft server. The old Hamachi networks are in place if you'd like to join them. The merge for KaizerCraft and Chaotic United has been put on hold for the time being. There are multiple reasons for this, reasons that I cannot go into detail about. The merge will resume at a later time. UPDATE 11/2/2014 1:28 AM CST - The merge has been cancelled entirely. The two servers will not merge again. Too much stress on both myself and Kaizer. No hard feelings between us, just too much stuff to worry about.

Me and Kaizer have resolved the issues that occurred recently, was simply miscommunication and a misunderstanding. We will continue forward with the temporary merge. We will be setting up a temporary server and then, after all bugs are fixed and everything checks out, we will continue with regular server. Again as before, this is only going to be for a little while. After it is over, KaizerCraft will still be part of the Chaotic United Network and KaizerCraft discussion may continue here or on unitedalycraft.com. It will likely be here, and I also have a third idea in store.... All old topics regarding KaizerCraft have been hidden, as to start fresh. Administrators may still see them though. Possibly Moderators as well.

This new category is for old staff applications and information pertaining ONLY for the KaizerCraft server. More likely than not, not much will be posted here and this won't even be used beyond staff re-applications. But here it is anyway. Because, why the hell not? Small News post today, but I need to clear a thing or two up: KAIZERCRAFT IS PART OF CHAOTIC UNITED. It seems like some of you don't realize, on here and especially on KaizerCraft, but KaizerCraft is part of Chaotic United. Please direct any and all KaizerCraft traffic here. The PRIMARY server for KaizerCraft, United AlyCraft, and Chaotic United will be on mc.chaoticunited.net ALONE. Playing on either server will soon REQUIRE registration. That is all for this post. As some of you know, the server has been offline for the last couple of days, and I warned of a potential server rollback by a couple of months. Well, here is what essentially happened: DAY 1 Just the other day, I was going to try something that seemed like a cool idea - Multiple Operating Systems (aka. Multiboot). This allows the use of multiple operating systems on a single computer or hard drive. I was planning on having Windows 7, Windows XP, and the Windows 10 Demo (available on MS's own website). So I created 2 empty partitions for the two operating systems. At first, a change was needed in the BIOS to allow the windows XP installer to load, as it caused a BSOD when loading the installer otherwise. After installing Windows XP, all seemed well. However, when I tried to reboot (expecting it to prompt me to choose an operating system) it simply went into XP automatically. This is where everything went to hell. I attempted to set the C:\ partition to be Active, and it warned me that, if the partition did not have system files, it could prevent booting. The partition DID have system files (or so i thought) so I set it to active. After rebooting, I got this: "BOOTMGR is missing. Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart.". From there I attempted to take the drive out, but one of the two screws holding it in place was stripped badly, preventing me from removing the drive. I then attempted to try and boot off of my Xbox 360 Hard Drive (formatted with Windows 7 and could not be hooked into my own Xbox 360 anymore) by setting it in BIOS. It began to boot, however a BSOD flashed onscreen about 80-90% through. So that was a bust. DAY 2 I was eventually able to remove the screw from the computer, which is now unused. I put in the old hard drive and booted Windows 7. I used a mess of weak cables to connect the drive to the computer, it said that no partitions existed. I decided that it wasn't getting enough power. So I bought a 35$ kit to connect the drive to the computer. This connected the computer, but the drive still read as empty. I had a scan going, but the computer rebooted to update mid-scan. DAY 3 - END (Day of this topic's posting) I again performed the scan, which found a whopping 0 files. After this, I decided to go back to the beginning of it all - the Windows XP Install CD. I fired it up, and lone behold, all the supposedly 'lost' partitions were FULLY INTACT. So after overwriting the existing XP install, I changed a file called boot.ini and was able to see the Operating System Selection Menu (MultiBoot). Windows 7 would not load, saying that "ntoskrnl is missing or corrupted. Please re-install a copy of this file". I attributed this to the fact that Windows 7 was not the newest installed OS, so it had a different format than the XP version. So I installed a clean copy of Windows 7 on the partition set aside for Windows 10, and this fixed the issue. I removed the Windows 10 partition, set Windows 7 to load by default, and now we have concluded the HDD/XP/MultiBoot/OS crisis. The server is now online, and no data has been lost. And remember kiddies, know what the hell you're doing if you wish to have multiple operating systems on a single computer. Or you can install them on separate hard drives. Just look it up on google. And go by the Microsoft.com tutorials, they WARN you correctly. That is all the news for today. Something is in the works, expect an announcement within the next week.

The full story is yet to come, but I am going to warn everyone that there is a chance that the sever will be rolled back - by a couple of months. It is still uncertain if this the case or not, so when this is certian, that is when I will explain what happened in full detail. Expect a new announcement within the next few hours.
