Durite 2.0
After a long wait, Durite was reintroduced to the MC server - better than ever - no longer requiring OptiFine, custom block textures, and featuring refreshed textures.
The plugin used to make it all happen was CUCraftingPlus - a plugin that would contain all of the MC server's custom content going forward.

The Passing of Haloman30's Father
In August 2021, haloman30's father unexpectedly passed away - seemingly losing a battle with his own mental health, among other problems.
The sudden and unexpected shift resulted in a significant halt in progress on Chaotic United for a time - both to allow for grieving and for recreation to de-stress, as haloman30's financial situation was dire from this point up until March of 2022.

Valheim Server, BungeeCord, and Archive Expansion
All around the same time, Chaotic United introduced a new server for a newly-released game called Valheim - a server that would stick around for the foreseeable future.
Additionally, the Main MC server had been fully migrated to BungeeCord. While some polishing would be continued into the future, the bulk of the migration was complete.
Additionally, a large amount of world archives were dusted off and published for download - after many years of being buried.

Public Forum Archives
In the spirit of continuing Chaotic United's efforts of historical preservation, a large library of old forum threads that were archived - but previously hidden from the public - were once again made public. Much of the content was public in the past, but was made private when those categories were deemed unnecessary.

Webserver Migration
After increasing difficulty with InMotion Hosting - Chaotic United's previous webhost provider - the decision was made to migrate the entire website onto a new host. However, rather than migrating to yet another shared host - and incurring heavy monthly server costs, the webserver was moved into locally owned hardware by haloman30 - making this the first time any Chaotic United service was locally hosted since 2014.

Age of Rebirth Modpack
After a while of Brink of Chaos being unavailable, Chaotic United reintroduced a new Modded MC server - on a new modpack. The new modpack, named Age of Rebirth, was created to improve upon Brink of Chaos - by cutting out the unneeded fat, and introducing new features to help the world feel more alive and encourage a better sense of exploration.

Durite
The introduction of Durite was a first attempt to introduce new items into the vanilla MC server. Originally, the intent wasn't any more than simply exploring server events - but thanks to an OptiFine feature, it was possible to create what are essentially brand new items and tools.

DonationStore
After the abrupt shutdown of MinecraftMarket back in 2018, research was done to explore self-hosted donation store websites. At that time, the only candidate was DonationStore 1.0, which had a large number of known issues and vulnerabilities. The v2.0 rewrite was underway, but it would still be quite some time before it came to finally release.
In early 2020, DonationStore 2.0 finally released - and shortly after a license was acquired. Being put off due to server migrations, it would not be setup and installed until June. After that point, the old CraftingStore site was given a notice indicating that it would only remain for archival purposes and nothing more.

Fighting Police Brutality
After the unbelievable and flat-out unacceptable behavior that resulted in the death of a man named George Floyd, CU took a stance to raise money to make a small, but still very real contribution to bring the USA at least a step closer to having this kind of behavior brought to justice once and for all.
Total funds raised for Communities United Against Police Brutality: $140 USD

Survival Overworld "Soft" Reset
CU's 1.15 survival world was gradually becoming buggier and with an increasing tendency to crash. The only real solution possible was to perform a full world reset - while offering any players bases to be copied back over from the earlier world. Unlike other resets, this didn't result in a Nether/End reset, nor a seed change. The original unstable world was put up for download, with the post-reset world being set to be uploaded separately when it was eventually fully reset for 1.16.

Nuclear District Remembrance Day 2020
With most old ND content was already showcased and made available (mostly), there wasn't much to do for ND's memorial day in 2020. What ended up being done to celebrate was the creation of a brand new forums theme, a sort of "what could have been" approach had ND still been around.

Brink of Chaos Retirement
After being offline for many months, the original Brink of Chaos modpack was officially retired. A successor modpack was yet to be released, but was already well underway. Due to system limitations, only one of the modded servers could be running at any given moment.

MC 1.15 Update and Population Boost
In the same month that Minecraft 1.15 was released, our Minecraft server was quickly updated to match - no more trailing behind months later. Along with that, as a result of the recent improvements to vote rewards - and ensuring that staff members did their part to start the voting process - CU's population finally saw the first stable, significant increase since the days of the old Chaotic United. There had been brief boosts of players, but these died off within a week. These boosts that ended off the year weren't limited time boosts, but were a steady and consistent pattern of growth.
It was the perfect way to end off the decade - only time would tell what the future would hold.

Return to Biosphere Spawns
After several years of a recycled and only once overhauled hub design - a design that was far too bloated and large for CU's needs - we returned to a smaller, more compact, and classic-inspired biosphere hub. These were a staple of old Chaotic United's survival spawns, and they were also utilized in the early 2014 revival days of CU.

Vote Rewards Overhaul
Shortly after CU's long-awaited update to Minecraft 1.14, voting rewards were drastically overhauled. Originally suggested by Z0mbieslayer2013, a new Helper at the time, this saw vote rewards changed from an afterthought to a setup with proper incentives behind it. A small change on the surface, but it would turn out that this small change would result in much larger changes to come...

MC 1.14 Update
After roughly a year and a half since the release of 1.13, and nearly 6 months after the release of 1.14, CU finally launched its newly updated 1.14 server. While it wasn't astounding in terms of new server features (like originally planned), CU's administration and ownership decided that this should be a turning point for CU as a whole. This would mark a point in time where a variety of flaws in management would finally be resolved - and a new era would begin for CU.

The End of MinecraftMarket
MinecraftMarket, the website that both CU and ND used for their donation store websites, shut down abruptly with no notice, and no farewell message. It was seemingly hacked by an unknown group. With this sudden shutdown, CU was forced to quickly setup a new store with another website. Among the available candidates, CraftingStore was chosen to host the new CU store.

Semi-Vanilla
CU introduced it's new Semi-Vanilla server, and with it, migrated CU back into a BungeeCord Network - which hadn't been used since the early days of the merge with Nuclear District. It utilized a modified hub from the ND merge as a lobby between the two servers. The Semi-Vanilla experience was focused on having a mostly vanilla-style experience, with limited donation perks and no fancy extensions that drastically alter the way the game is played.

ElDewrito Servers
Upon the release of ElDewrito's 0.6 update, CU joined the bandwagon and launched several servers for the game. These servers were Grifball, Forge, and Battlegrounds. The Grifball server was a collection of custom maps made by CU or its playerbase. The Forge server was a server utilizing a modified gametype using the same technique as in Halo 3 to allow for Forge in custom games. The Battlegrounds server was a general grouping of more traditional combat gametypes.

2017 Relaunch
After many months of continuous work, CU finally updated its server to MC 1.12. Along with this new update, it maintained backwards compatiability with old versions, as well as improved NDParkour and introduced MobArena. An additional mode called The Arena - which was going to be an umbrella for several PvP-focused modes - was planned, but never made it in.

Michael
Not too long after the CU revival had begun, Alycat introduced AwakenedRage (Michael) to Chaotic United. He helped host CU's servers for over a year, and would continue to be a key Administrator for the forseeable future of CU.
Chaotic United Revival
CU was gone for almost a year. HurricaneCraft had long since shut down, and ND was lagging behind in population. Haloman30 and Alycat took it upon themselves to rebuild Chaotic United.

HurricaneCraft
As CU was being drained of its playerbase, killerteddy offered josh_3210 some extra players by pointing the chaoticunited.com domain at HurricaneCraft. HurricaneCraft was granted usage of the old Chaotic Unietd forums, which were rebranded under HurricaneCraft.
Decline and Collapse
Chaotic United was going strong for years. But things were slowing to a crawl. For the past year, CU was running on the talent, time, and money of Atomicbeast101, Ntx2 and several more. But it wasn't enough. Killerteddy wasn't satisfied with the player counts and wanted to close the CU server due to lack of profits. The CU staff would not let killerteddy kill off such a great community, so they left - and founded Nuclear District.

Haloman30

The Stoneharry Event
A long time administrator of Chaotic United, stoneharry, deleted the CU website and server. Nobody truly knows why he did it to this day - even stoneharry himself has forgotten. However, a popular theory among old CU Staff was that Stoneharry was being mistreated by Teddy, and thus he left - and took his work with him.
