So, alycat has been contacted by one of his friends regarding hosting for Chaotic United. I am going to make a poll on whether or not you think I should do it. Keep in mind that this won't be like KaizerCraft necessarily, as we would just be run on a separate PC. Personally, I am rather reluctant to do this, but if you guys think it's a good idea, I may go ahead with it. If not, our current setup will not change even slightly.

For those of you who have not seen, the old "Info" box is back! It holds current (and future) IP addresses for our servers. You will notice that WoW, TS, RS, and LiveMap are all present. These are planned servers for the future. The livemap technically already works, but I sometimes have it disabled. But that is the address for it. The rest will come as time goes on. The Shoutbox announcement will now hold ACTUAL announcements instead of the server IP addresses.

No alycat. Before I even THINK about a modded MC server i'll need FOUR hosts: Regular MC, WoW, RuneScape, and Teamspeak (not in that order)

Just now, the Forums were updated and cleaned up a little bit. I plan to do more but that doesn't require that the board be offline. The changes in total will be as follows: Categories "KaizerCraft", "Tidal Wave Gaming", and "United AlyCraft" will be removed along with induvidual forums, their topics/posts moved with the main Forums except for U.A.C. Discussion, which will be placed under "Server Discussion". I will be adding "prefixes" for the forums. The TWG posts will get the prefix "TWG", UAC posts get "UAC", and KaizerCraft posts will get "KC". Please be aware, United AlyCraft and Tidal Wave Gaming are still part of Chaotic United. This is just to clean things up a bit. Nothing more.

The issue has been dealt with. Skyradz has been demoted to Griefer, and will not move beyond that without making a ban appeal or donating.

Well, lets talk about the Minecraft server. Last month, I made a post about hosting Nuclear District's server. Let me clarify what this will mean: This means that Chaotic United will be an unofficial server for Minecraft players there. "Why would we want to do that?", I hear you asking. The answer is simple. Nuclear District has most of the old Chaotic players from Killerteddy's reign. "Wouldn't that be advertising?" Well, not really. Nuclear District has closed its Minecraft server. So I'd like to host it for them. If you are an old Nuclear District member and you join, you will be reinstated on Chaotic United. Whether you get an equal rank or equal price, it depends. Whichever one is higher. Now lets change topics. The Minecraft server has been down for quite some time now. Let me answer why that is. You may recall my old post about my Laptop dying, coming to life, and dying again, and truly waking from the dead. This is why. I refuse to destroy my laptop twice for Chaotic United. However, I have a desktop computer that literally just sits there and does nothing. I am trying to get the server to run on that. Please be aware this is temporary, and will last until I can actually afford hosting. Guess you could say we're doing it the same way Teddy did with Fatality Minecraft. It started up as a server run on Teddy's computer. So, in layman terms, more people = more donations = hosted server = less lag Keep that in mind. Also, for those who never got around to reading my earlier post, you can now see the entire story of Chaotic United by clicking "Our Story" under the "Navigation" tab at the bottom of the page. Since the actual owners of KaizerCraft refuse to update this, I will. KaizerCraft forums are on http://unitedalycraft.com Why this is, I do not know. Considering I offered to let Kaizer use an IPB forum as a separate directory here but eh whatever. I am talking with Alycat about getting people here but he refuses to do that. So if you happen to hop on the old United AlyCraft site and people are still registering, thats why. Because those are not Chaotic United players. Those are KaizerCraft players.

Haha, nope. Killed itself again when I was halfway done typing my Hard Drive password. Guess it's time for a new laptop. Please note that a new laptop is months away. MONTHS. So, please don't hold your breath for it. If you want a server, ask Alycat to start up a temp. server until I can provide services again.

Okay, so in short: I baked my laptop motherboard in the oven. 200 degrees, 8 minutes. I then put the computer back together. After re-assembling, I powered on the computer and it seemed to be dead still. I decided to try one final time and this time, the Acer logo showed up. The computer was working. I am actually making this post from the laptop. I cannot guarantee that this will be a permanent fix, so I am not going to run the server on this PC anymore. I will not cook the computer for a server. I may play Minecraft, I may play Halo. I will not run the server locally. Never again. I am going to shut the laptop off, put in the regular hard drive, and reboot. There is a good chance the laptop will not reboot again after I shut down. If that occurs, I will use Internet Explorer on my Xbox 360 and make a post. If it DOES work, there will be a reply to this topic. Even if the laptop continues to work, it can easily stop working any second. That's why I'm not doing this overnight running. Never again. I will do whatever I can to preserve the computer for as long as possible. Thank you for reading this, and please accept these statements.

Unfortunately, the server has been crashing. Repeatedly. The server will be down from now until I get the computer repaired. The computer has unfortunately had a GPU failure, and this means the laptop's Motherboard needs to be replaced. This will not be able to happen until Christmas at least. I apologize for the inconvenience, but these events were far beyond my control.

The laptop is still shot folks. Don't get too exited. However, a week old version of the server was able to be obtained on this PC. This means, for now, the server will in fact be online. The IP is just the same as always. I will be trying to get the current server files onto the PC, so don't go building anything crazy. But if you do, I can import larger builds into the main server via MCEdit if needed. IP: mc.chaoticunited.net

Mini-announcement today. When I am able to get a computer suitable for server running, we will be also supporting a few Nuclear District members. This is not a merge by any means, but Nuclear District has closed its Minecraft server. That's the same one I've been using this time. Its about half of the laptop, but it's the best I've got at the moment. Please keep in mind, while the laptop ITSELF failed, the hard drive has NOT. That means you wont miss a beat when the server is back up again. I apologies for these issues, and I hope you can stick around during the downtime. Because I have no intentions of ending Chaotic United. Not for years to come anyway. Have a nice day.

The computer hosting the server has officially stopped working. As of now, the monitor does not turn on. Either due to a Montior failure, Video Card/GPU failure, CPU/BIOS failure, or even a full out Motherboard failure to to years of overworking. Whatever the cause may be, I will continue to attempt to get it running again, but there is a good chance that Chaotic United will be a forums-only service for months, even over a year in worst case scenario. I am using an old computer running the worst Operating System ever, but its better than nothing. ANd yep, you guessed it: Windows *ahem*. But this can be good in the fact it is a sort of middle-ground between XP and 7, which could be helpful for.... something later on maybe. I will not be testing its durability with games or even try and get a server running. This machine supposedly stopped playing games when my Dad last used it, so it probably will be only for Internet Access. More updates will be posted as needed. I will download Steam for the sake of contacting those who use it. I will NOT download Skype. Please don't ask. Thank you.

As most of you noticed, there are some serious problems with the Minecraft server. Some problems are being addressed now that are long overdue for fixing. The server will hopefully be migrating to a new hosting service and, possibly, with double the RAM we have now. The server could be down for either several hours or several days. I apologise for the inconvenience.

As you all know, Chaotic United has been run off my local computer for a while. Even dating back to United AlyCraft years ago, it was all on my machine. Never hosted on the web. There was a brief period in which Chaotic District was hosted, but that lasted about a day. Since then, it's been on my computer, except for the recent KaizerCraft merges. But for the next 5 months, these will not be issues anymore. In other words.... WE ARE FINALLY BEING HOSTED!!!! You are probably wondering what fluke allowed that to happen, let me tell you one word: IVORY Ivory has donated 20$ to the server for the purpose of getting us hosted. The money will last for about 5 months. In order to keep us going, please donate before then! Enough donations each month will mean a possible upgrade! Thats all for now. The server IP, mc.chaoticunited.net, will later be forwarded to the new server. Until then the server will be offline.
