This is the Brink of Chaos world from 2016 to August 2018. The map is designed for the Brink of Chaos modpack available on the Technic Launcher. As with any other world upload, there are a few guidelines: Do not reupload to any website without haloman30's permission Do not use this world on your own server Do not use any part of this world on your own server Do not claim this map as your own creation.

  2. Hey, folks! Surprise announcement today! We have just reset the Brink of Chaos world. The old map has been uploaded to the CU website as with all prior world resets. We are also now using a different world generator selection in order to avoid some of the issues with the current (fuckin mushroom biomes ) as well as bring a fresh new experience to the server, something that hasn't happened in a long time. Along with that, we will be adopting the semi-vanilla principle of staff not having a lot of overpowered abilities. Everyone will be on a level playing field, no EMC abuse or item spawning or anything (though some administrators are allowed to have creative bases isolated from their survival homes - and will have that right revoked if it is abused). There are no donation ranks (though we may implement a basic one or two just as we did with Semi-Vanilla), and no rank will have any abilities not required for server moderation and administration. A spawn is still being worked on, we will be making a brand new spawn for this world reset (but it isn't quite there yet). In the meantime, you will spawn in the middle of the wilderness left to go out and survive. As always, if you find any bugs or issues, let us know and we'll squash them (assuming the issue is fixable). We hope you guys are excited for this new and improved approach of modded MC! Hate the new font appearance? Does it just look "off" to you? If so, this pack is for you! It is a simple font tweak that restores the original look of the font prior to the 1.13 update! To install: Simply place the downloaded .zip file into %appdata%/.minecraft/resourcepacks, then look for `Classic Font.zip` in your Resource Packs menu (Options>Resource Packs). That's it! Enjoy!

  11. wow this shit finally works properly again

  12. Alright, so apparently not too long ago the website that hosted our donation store, MinecraftMarket, got hacked. After doing some research, it's guaranteed that it will never recover. If you're not overly interested in what the details on the matter are, all you need to know is that we have hand-rebuilt our entire donation store with a new host - CraftingStore. They offer custom domain names (using your own subdomain as the store URL) and other key features without charge, unlike BuyCraft which requires a monthly fee for these features. Things may not be fully ironed out yet, but everything should be more or less good to go. If you are concerned about any leaking of personal details, know that MinecraftMarket only stored your Minecraft username and other basic details of the transactions (date, item purchased, and so on). Additionally, PayPal emails were leaked, so consider that as you will - no passwords were leaked however. If you were a customer of MinecraftMarket itself (you had your own store on the site), we strongly encourage you to change your password on any sites where you used the same password. If you are more interested in what actually happened, keep reading. MinecraftMarket has had a history of being insecure. It was apparently hacked on a very minor level in 2015, something most folk never even knew about until recently. On June 21, the website was hacked and the only thing visible was the following message from "XrtGroup": Hacked by XrtGroup, all users accounts and MinecraftMarket source code have been leaked! Enjoy Along with the website, the Twitter, GitHub, and Discord were all deleted as well. These "hackers" left nothing alone (except the Facebook page which hasn't been updated in 3 years). As of now, the old website link goes nowhere. Users of MinecraftMarket who had their own stores had their email, username, and hashed password leaked in pbkdf2_sha256 format. For all the security holes in MinecraftMarket, it appears that nobody is able to decrypt the encrypted passwords at this point (though that may change one day, who knows). The leaked source code of MinecraftMarket itself is a docker container (missing the actual image, it seems) and the website sources themselves are created in Python and Djengo. Also in the leaked source was the Cloudflare email and API keys used for the MinecraftMarket website. All of this was in the official GitHub repository for the work-in-progress self-hosted option for MinecraftMarket's upcoming Enterprise plan. Later on, BuckinghamIO - the owner of MinecraftMarket - stopped the radio silence and a few screenshots were posted to a forum topic on SpigotMC: He essential gave up and his general stance was "oh well shit happens". He never made an official statement, he simply quit and walked away. All the details of what was leaked (check this post on the SpigotMC thread) was provided by a user named R4G3_BABY. After this fact and lists of what information was compromised to the over 40,000 people who had stores on MinecraftMarket, BuckinghamIO sent the following message to R4G3_BABY: The owner effectively pulled a killerteddy after this, and simply disappeared. For those unaware what "pulling a killerteddy" means, it basically refers to an owner/leader of something running away with any profits before the ship sinks, never to be seen again. There are other details scattered around that suggest the possibility of BuckinghamIO leaking all of this himself in order to run off with the cash. All of these are theories and aren't able to be proven (though a very strong case can be made). That's just about all the info that exists for now, though. In the future we are going to likely move to a self-hosted solution later down the road, perhaps developing our own if the resources are available. Lastly, some of the pricing on anything that isn't a rank may be different as we don't have any sort of backup or other copy of the pricing structure for those anymore. Along with that, we lost the original NuclearDistrict donation store - also hosted with MinecraftMarket - as well as any donation history from that. It honestly sucks and it hurts for a small piece of CU/ND history to be lost like this (you know me, obsessive over history xd). Hell, the CU donation store dates back to the Chaotic District days - which, for those unaware, was the original name of my server that eventually became the reboot of CU - before Aly and the others were even here, it was just me and a couple of Xbox LIVE friends making a server. Thank the lord we have an in-game history of all our donors. That's all we have for now, folks! I've attached a few links for anyone who wants to read more into the whole thing. It's kind of interesting and also amazing how MinecraftMarket survived as long as it did with all the security issues it had. 13. Welcome back! Always great to see old faces return
  14. Hey, everyone! Remember that poll we did a few days ago? Well, taking the poll into account, we've made our decision and CU is now introducing a brand new server - a Semi-Vanilla server! sv.chaoticunited.net So, what is this server exactly? This server is the pure Minecraft experience. There is an economy system in place, as well as grief protection, and other basics. There is going to be a single donation rank - VIP, for the same price as the main server's VIP rank: 10 dollars. We will also be having time based ranking make a return as well - more details on that later. There is no McMMO, Jobs, or anything of the sort - it's essentially the core MC experience as it was designed. Additionally, there are NO donation ranks that feature things like /item, /gamemode, or /fly or any other such perks. The perks for VIP will be as follows: Semi-Vanilla VIP Perks List The goal of the server is to create an experience where all players are equal, a fair playing field. Along with this server's implementation, we've introduced BungeeCord again (and a hub that may look familiar to some of you who were around in 2016). The main purpose of implementing BungeeCord is to advertise this server separately from the main MC server. Now, this may not end up sticking and we may end up migrating the server into the multiworld setup with the main server, it just depends how things go. Until then, the servers will be isolated and you can switch between them by doing /hub, /main, and /sv. What does this mean for the main server? Nothing! All the ranks and their perks are remaining the same. In fact, we have lifted the restriction on /item - which means you can spawn to your hearts content again! The main server will continue to be our primary focus, and will receive the most attention as always. Even so, for any players looking to try a more pure Minecraft experience (or just wanting to play uninterrupted survival with your friends), we encourage you to give our new server a whirl! Bungeecord? Yes! You can connect to either server straight from the other. There is no cross server chat or message capability at this time due to several issues that we found while doing so, including problems with Discord integration as well as other problems that took more away from the experience than anything. There will be a portal in the main server hub to the left of the Survival portal that will take you to Semi-Vanilla, and the hub server will have portals that lead to both servers. Additionally, forced hosts have been setup which will allow you to connect to any server via IP. The primary IP, mc.chaoticunited.net or mc.chaoticunited.com will take you to the main server, hub.chaoticunited.net will take you to Network Hub, and sv.chaoticunited.net will take you to the Semi-Vanilla server. Why all this? Why not just make the existing Survival mode be like this instead? A few reasons. The biggest reason is previous donators - several people have donated specifically for the advantageous perks like flying, itemspawn, and so on. Taking these perks away is, in our eyes, the same as basically stealing. People paid for their abilities and they deserve to keep them. Additionally, we felt that doing it this way would be better suited on its own server in order to bring in people who, say, don't want to be in a giant server with tons of stuff - but just want pure Survival. This gives people a way to get introduced to the community and eventually explore the other server on its own. What about advertising? Not much to say yet, but I am likely going to end up with a job by the end of the month - which could open a few doors. Can't wait to see you guys on the server! We hope you guys love it, and we're excited for the ever brighter future of CU!
  15. This is from the ingame rules, note how it says "You will be banned immediately.". Advertising has been and always will be a rule where you get permanently banned upon doing so. I will wait for other staff to overview this and drop some feedback before I make a decision, but you do need to keep these rules in mind. Ignorance to the rules is not an excuse. I would also appreciate an actual appeal instead of just "i dont know why i was banned, it should have been a temp ban".
  16. Alright, so as of recently there seems to have been some controversy about CU's donation perks. I have been told by a few people that I should remove and/or limit the use of /item, /fly, and /gamemode perks. My stance has been, and still is, to maintain the system exactly as set up by the old CU. This has worked just fine for the past almost 4 years, but this past week people have suddenly had an issue with it - enough where I feel a poll should be conducted regarding this as well as another idea that has been presented to me: a Semi-Vanilla server. Now, this idea is something I mentioned in the previous announcement as something I would not do, but this was in the concept of replacing the main server with such a server. The idea I am presenting now is to have this as a separate server entirely, likely BungeeCord-ed with the main server for easily going between the two. This server would have some basic stuff - /home, /me, CUEmotes, Residence, WorldGuard, Essentials, anticheat, and possibly a single donation rank with a few added perks (maybe) - but that's about it. Staff would have only the extra perks needed to effectively check grief and fix it, moderate, and so on, which excludes a lot of the typical stuff that can be seen as "extras", which means they can play legitimately right beside players. This idea is something that ND experimented with right before we merged with them originally, and it seemed to do well. This idea has been mentioned to me by a few people as well, and while I absolutely will never replace the primary server with this, I believe that setting it up and making it a reality would be both easy on the team and easy on our available server hardware. The poll presents various voting options for how these things should be handled, and get your guys' interests figured out. A couple things to note before we wrap up this topic though: On the 2nd question (the one regarding the perks directly and with the most choices), please PICK TWO - and ONLY two. If you do not pick two, your votes will be ignored entirely. Additionally, these votes do NOT guarantee that we will go in that direction (or not exactly specifically), this is meant to see where current user interest lies and doesn't automatically determine the exact direction we will go. Rather, the votes you make will be taken into consideration when we do decide. This doesn't mean that what the winning vote is won't happen, it just means that us (the CU Staff) ultimately reserve the choice to do what we feel is the best for the future of the community. Also, if you select "Other" for that 2nd question, make sure you give us your idea by replying! The cooldown that was mentioned in the first question was implemented today - it is 15 seconds per use of the command. More details on the update can be found here: Lastly, if you happen to be a donator of these ranks, we want your feedback especially, as everything that was suggested thus far was (mostly) from people who didn't wield these powers. We look forward to hearing your feedback, and we thank you for your interest and participation in helping make CU better!
  17. Some small changes have been applied to the MC server and website. * Restriction on use of /item - command can only be used every 15 seconds * Renamed main website navigation option: Arena Map Browser - renamed to Minigame Map Browser - Removed 'The Arena' block from Minecraft games page on main website - Removed 'Factions' block from Minecraft games page on main website - Removed 'The Arena' navigation item from main website - Removed 'Factions' navigation item from main website
