Hey everyone. As most of you know, we will soon be acquiring a Dedicated Server. Aside from making the current MC server run smoother I want to launch a modded MC server once again, on a custom modpack. Suggest any mod you want to be added! Only mods for 1.7.10 will be compatible as this is the base version for the modpack. Planned Gamemodes for the server are just Survival and Creative for the time being. Not much else will be possible in order to leave enough RAM for the normal server to run but you can still suggest a preferred gamemode if you wish. UPDATE: Modpack will be available via Technic Launcher, as the modpack has troubles running within a normal Minecraft environment. UPDATE 2: The list of mods below is mostly final, and has been tested in SP. Server testing is underway, and the current mod count is 100. Hey, everyone! Some changes have happened on the MC Server in the past month or two, and this post will help bring everyone up to speed. First off, Factions and a few other plugins have been removed. Due to lag and memory issues, coupled with the fact that these plugins were scarcely used, they have been cut out. Second off, the Creative world has been reset for the first time ever (and hopefully the last). The old creative world is still present if you want your old builds to be copied over. The reason for the reset is due to the fact that the creative world was using 50% of the server's resources. As an added bonus, the plot size is over twice as large as before to allow for some bigger builds. In other recent news, we have introduced some new features to the server, and lets start off with our first custom plugin: XPSell. The idea behind it is that you can now sell your unwanted XP Levels for ingame currency. Another thing that is making an entrance is SkyWars. Yes, SkyWars is coming to the server at long last. There are other arena gamemodes that are also underway still, don't worry. We didn't forget. Just takes a bit to setup. Another thing that was added lately was the Builder rank ([Builder]). This rank is for members of the CU Build Team, which will be building additional spawns, arenas, and more. They do not have any builds in use quite yet, but they will soon enough. To become a part of the Build Team, you must show multiple instances of excellent building in the Creative or Survival world. If you are picked to be a part of the Build Team, you will be contacted and offered a position. Another noteworthy change is to VIP, Platinum and Creator ranks, which have had permissions added and removed. Platinum has had portal block placement revoked, as the plugin itself was removed. Creator has lost /unlimited due to an unfixable bug that allows any block to be obtained, including blacklisted items. The Creator world has also been cut due to lack of use. The last change to Creator rank is an increase to the amount of homes - which has been boosted to 20. VIP has had its amount of homes increased to 10, and Members can set up to 5. We are also working on setting up /helpdesk - which is an in-game help center. A web version of it may be added in the future, but the idea behind it is to have an easy to use in-game FAQ sort of thing, to help newbies get their questions answered more easily. Some of you oldies may have noticed it has been added for quite some time. It is basically being revitalized and reintroduced. You can read the full changelog here:

The Modded MC server would replace the current server, not run alongside it. Besides population is slowly increasing.

Okay, I am considering the possibility of modded Minecraft. However, I lack the resources to host two MC Servers. I want to know what you guys would think of having the current server with a custom modpack installed. Would this be preferable for you guys? Use the poll to vote. Please be aware that this modded server would replace the existing mc.chaoticunited.net server, while containing the basic gamemodes (survival, creative, anything else that doesnt break with mods)

It would be nice, but the amount of work needed to invest into it is so high, and with the current playerbase it's simply not worth it. I will look into it when player counts rise though.
