  1. I think he gets it man. Thanks, and as I said before, you're welcome to keep using forums and MC if you like.
  2. You've had numerous incidents on our Discord server, and we've heard this same tale before. I'm sorry to say that this appeal will be getting a rejection for today, and I doubt many others will have any qualms about that verdict. Time and time again, you've blasted out our eardrums, played music, and generally gotten on people's nerves. People got tired of it and so action was taken. You are more than free to continue playing on our MC servers providing you follow the rules, and you're welcome to continue interacting with the community here via the forums. Your best bet is to give it a while when it comes to appealing from Discord. Utilize our other services in the meantime if you like. Also please, use the provided format for creating an appeal the next time. Despite Jayden's statement of "Don't make another appeal", I am entirely open and aware that, given time, people can grow out of their ways. There was a time where both I and Alycat were banned and had no place within Chaotic United, and we eventually became the ones to run the show. Other staff are free to comment if they desire, but regardless of what they say the verdict is going to be a rejection, for now. Give it time. As I said before, it's not the end of the world. You still have access to the rest of CU's services - MC, forums, and so on and you're welcome to play and use them as you wish.

  8. Hey, folks. You may have noticed that a little while ago as of this topic that we made an announcement on our Discord and shut all the servers down. As of now, the server is all ready to go again, so if that's all you care about you're free to get back to playing. However, what happened was nothing short of insane and we think it's important that we share what exactly happened. On February 25th, a group of hackers/griefers came in and somehow managed to gain OP access. Along with this, they managed to get around FastLogin's premium account protection and use my account during the whole event. Semi-Vanilla and Hub were most severely impacted, with the main server seemingly untouched (more on that in a bit). Hub was almost entirely wiped from existence, as you can see in the spoiler below. Semi-Vanilla got flat-out nuked. You know, the typical lava and explosions and whatnot. Thankfully, we had just implemented a backup system a couple months ago. A backup system that is presently flawed and is supposed to make daily backups of the server. I wasn't informed that anything shady had happened until today, but luckily the backup system was just disabled a couple days before this all happened, and we were saved. The backups were taken just a couple days before the whole event, so very little loss of progress should be noticed. We will not be sharing the identities or any usernames of those who griefed, as the publicity and attention is exactly what they want. The roots of these players seem to date back to Christmas, where someone logged into Semi-Vanilla and had their IP showing as 127.0.0.1, which if you know anything about networking and how IP's work, would know that having that IP would be impossible. At the time, we wrote it off as no malicious actions took place at that time. The user tried to register with a couple of admin accounts, including wolfbitez and AlexZH. Espon (wolfbitez) just changed his username so this was no longer the real account, and Alex was never admin. Most likely he saw him in spawn and assumed he had administration powers. The same pattern was found from the griefers, except when they joined main. Two of the accounts let their guard down or forgot to spoof their IP - revealing their actual IP's. These IP's have been banned from the server, as well as all of the accounts and usernames we were able to find that had connections to this group, mostly coming from their YouTube channel. As for the main server, we found that there were no traces of anything left on it. No unknown OPs, nobody with the all permissions that shouldn't have it. We did notice a bug with Multiverse but it seemed to be unrelated. It has been fixed, but we ultimately don't know for sure that everything is perfect. We ask that you guys keep an eye out for anything strange, and if you find it, report it to us immediately. For the time being, however, we will NOT be allowing cracked users onto the server. We don't know for sure if this was part of how they broke in, but as a precaution we will be premium-only for the time being. We will likely be keeping it that way until we update to 1.14, especially since the vast majority of our playerbase is premium anyways. Normally, such an event would be a serious thing that'd cripple us, but thanks to the magic of backup it was a quick fix, and we're back up after a few hours as if nothing had happened. Once again, if you find anything suspicious, let us know immediately! And for the record, I only speak English. If I'm ever on and I'm not speaking English, be wary.

  15. This guide has not been fully tested by the community. This warning message will be removed after it is confirmed to be working. Hey! So you might have noticed that your saved waypoints have vanished after the recent server maintenance. Among other things, these changes allowed us to get a standalone IP for the modded server. Unfortunately, due to the way that JourneyMap stores waypoint data, all old waypoints will not show. Thankfully, this is a relatively easy thing to fix. First, select the Brink of Chaos modpack and choose 'Modpack Options'. Next, click the 'Open' button. You will now be in the folder containing the modpack. From here, look for a folder called "journeymap" and open it From here, you'll see several more folders. Open the folder called 'data' Now, open the 'mp' folder. You will most likely only have a single folder in here. Rename the folder to "Chaotic~United~Brink~of~Chaos" If you have more than one folder present, make a reply containing a screenshot of the list of folders and we'll help you out. And that's it! Restart your client and you should see all your waypoints return.
  16. * Change default server.properties to point to new IP
  17. + Add mod: Aether II * Update Matter Overdrive from 0.3.4.1 to 0.4.2
  18. + Added CustomMobSpawners
  19. * Changed MoCreatures version and enabled it on the server
  20. + Added mod: MoCreatures + Added mod: Lots of Food + Added mod: Elemental Creepers + Added mod: Doggy Style
  21. Some fixes and changes have been applied to the forums and main website. + Added latest announcement to homepage + Added site banner support to CU 2018 - Dark Theme * Migrated Helpcenter to Forums, old one retired (can still be accessed for now here, is now out of date) * Changed main site and forums navigation menus to point to new helpcenter instead of old one - Removed Killerteddy
  22. Hey, folks! Some new things to talk about today! This time, all about the lovely CU website. As of now, we have retired the old CU helpcenter in favor of a new one (which may or may not be based on the one Elaztek uses). Our old one was pretty clunky in both looks and usability. It was generally just not that great. So, we've opted to migrate everything to a brand new helpcenter, integrated into the forums rather than our main website. Some topics (in particular, ones that aren't really standard articles) have not and likely will not be migrated over anytime soon. However, you'll still find links to them in our new helpcenter. The old helpcenter and any links that it contains are now considered legacy and as time goes on will be further and further out of date. You can check out the new helpcenter by clicking here. In the first draft of this announcement, that's all that happened. But then, something else happened - the homepage got a slight facelift. Not a huge change, but if you check the homepage, you'll see the latest announcement topic featured right there, along with the image and other basic information about it. Cool, right? Lastly, our dark theme got all the new banners added to it because it turns out I forgot to add them to it. Better late than never, right? That's all for now folks! We can't share many other details just yet (though you should keep your eyes peeled for some news soon), but 2019 is shaping to be a big year - a truly defining year for CU. You may also notice several staff in Discord in voice (in private staff channels) around 3PM Central, as we're doing a staff meeting today - the first in a while. There's also some other neat things in the works behind the scenes besides that as well - details of which we hope to share soon. But, for now, that's all I've got. See you folks soon!
