M is a fictional community, operated by the fictional organization known as M Corp., which was initially announced as a joke rebrand of Chaotic United. It was created primarily to poke fun at Twitter's decision to rebrand as X - The Everything App. The decision was regarded by many as risky and unfavorable due to the fact that it does away with Twitter's recognizable name and branding, an opinion shared by haloman30 at the time of M's announcement.
First Appearance (July 2023)
M was first announced on July 26, 2023 via the Chaotic United Discord server, where it was announced to be the new name of Chaotic United. At the time, the logo on the forums was changed, along with the branding within the tab list and in-game announcements on the Minecraft server. The Discord server also saw its photo changed, and its name was changed to The M Community (Chaotic United).
At the time of these changes, an announcement was also posted on the Discord server, which also included a link to the new M homepage:
Attention everyone:
Today we have made the collective, universal, and agreed-upon-by-everyone decision to rebrand as M - The Everything Minecraft Server. The Minecraft server scene has become stagnant for far too long - with far too many limitations.
Imagine a world where you can play Minecraft, play Minecraft, and even play Minecraft - all within a single server.
That's M.

The following day, July 27, all of the changes were reverted - restoring the original Chaotic United branding. The M logo was however made available as a theme option within the Chaotic United - 2022 theme, and the original webpage was kept online. Along with this, the following announcement was posted to the Discord server:
@here Howdy folks - our logos and such are all back to normal as of now.
For those who might be unaware - we of course were not actually rebranding anything - we tried to make that relatively obvious since we typically don't do any "haha fun e" jokes like that, and didn't want to spook anyone too much.
If you're not aware of the actual context of any of this, the joke was making fun at Elon Musk's decision to rebrand Twitter as X - the "Everything App" and, in doing so, throw away over a decade of brand recognition. Unlike Twitter (or sorry, X), however - we cherish our history and have no desire to just chuck it. (though there's a slim chance we might make this a yearly holiday of sorts, we'll see next year)

You can now also toggle the M logo as you wish on the CU 2022 Light and Dark themes on the website, using the Theme Personalization menu (the little paintbrush icon next to the search box).
After this date, the https://m-corp.org/ domain was purchased, and was given a simple landing page containing only the M logo - suggesting that M could make another appearance in the future. Along with this, emotes were added to both the Forums and Discord as permanent additions to their emoji selections.
