  3. Why is everyone calling me Falker?
  4. Actually, my choice couldn't be any less specific. You are allowed to make absolutely anything, just so long as you're hall with it and think it'd work with my current sig. Or not! I honestly would rather you make something you're happy with, than you make something based around what I've provided. They're only there as a guideline, nothing more.
  5. So, Professor Kliq's album The Scientific Method, Vol. II: Experiments In Sound & Perspective (long title I know) is quite fun to listen to. If you want a specific track from the album, I'd say my current favourite is Plastic & Flashing Lights. Here's a link to the full album (as found on SoundCloud. He has uploaded the music with a creative commons license) https://soundcloud.com/professorkliq/sets/the-scientific-method-vol-ii Here's a link to the aforementioned Plastic & Flashing Lights https://soundcloud.com/professorkliq/plastic-flashing-lights-1?in=professorkliq/sets/the-scientific-method-vol-ii I originally found his music from the YouTube channel DefendTheHouse, who made a video called Retrograde. It showcased all Bungie developed Halo Games that were in the original style (i.e. a spartan based character in an FPS game). For more of his work, visit http://professorkliq.com - It also has details on all the creative commons licensing he has used.
  6. PrimeWire is blocked by Virgin Media (UK ISP)
  7. Read those rules carefully, I said ANYONE could enter ANYTHING. It's just a lonely sig that needs some company.
  8. Ok, so I have a sig that AlexZH made for me a little while ago. It's awesome. But it's also lonely. I need a second sig to accompany AlexZH's and give it a companion to hang out with when I'm not around to chat with it (I'm sad like that). So I need your help. I'm offering a surprise for whomever can make a sig which I deem to be the most awesome. I'm also offering a surprise for the person who creates a sig which is deemed most popular by the community. This means that I will have a sig I choose, which I will use, and a sig which will be community chosen as well. If popular enough, AlexZH's sig may find itself with 2 new friends... So, the instructions: It can be anything. And I mean ANYTHING that you think is awesome / cool / funny / clever / whatever the hell you want. This is me giving unto you the creative license to show off exactly who you are and what you think. HOWEVER, I will remove entries that are defamatory, racist, sexist, homophobic, overtly rude, harassing, or basically anything I deem inappropriate. I also reserve the right to ban any person(s) from being eligible to win the aforementioned surprise if I deem their conduct too inappropriate to be considered. You are eleigible to enter as many items as you like. This will increase your chances of being shortlisted for either winning the surprise for my favourite sig, or for the community chosen sig. There are absolutely NO LIMITS on how many times you enter (provided they are within the guidelines of ruling 2 of course) The closing date for entries will be Sunday, the 5th of April, 2014. The closing time will be 23:59 (1 minutes before midnight) of that day, as by the Greenwich Meridian Timezone clock. (i.e. UK time) That just about sums up what I want you to do. I have added a spoiler to the topic as well, to show you a few pieces that you may use for inspiration. You may use these images in any way if you wish, or you may completely ignore them. Just note I own no copyright, creative license or other legal ownership of any of these files (especially given most were found in the public domain). Good luck, and have fun! Falk FYI, there's 20 images in that spoiler, so if you open it, expect to be scrolling for a bit... AlexZH's Sig: Random dump of images I think may have some degree of relevance to a select few of you (also, feel free to use for desktops etc) (collage of all the below images. Sorry for potato style image, but it was made quite quickly and is only to show a thumbnail style preview of each image. Each image is linked in order (so go from left to right). I would have them embedded, except IPB won't let me...): https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/000Another-anime-lovers-rp-31643367-1920-1080.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/000Misaki.Mei.full.1047646.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/6M4kq5S.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/9iYwx0h.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/016%20-%20kOFCpr6.png https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/0126%20-%207U1hy6C.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/0136%20-%20hdiFuyX.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/0149%20-%20dyu8RYZ.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/0200cUK5Hmk.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/0201uJeUjQc.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/0202urA2sUs.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/bf8c4ed17666c34de65768ec648e07ec.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/Feisar%20MKII.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/HWK_Wallpaper1920x1200.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/t_painting_01_d_e.PNG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/t_painting_02_d_t.PNG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/UyN6xpz.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/VC1_1600_1200.jpg https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/39026697/%21Sig%20Surprise%20Files/zLPYtf0.jpg
  9. GMod and TF2 are a strong choice, because they both use the source engine, and so similar plugins are available for both (making setup and management easier). However, I'd also like to see some other games as well, such as Star Wars Battlefront 2 (not many Internet servers out there, and it's got variety to it) or perhaps a newer game, such as Rust (even though I don't play) because they will get more popular, so more people will be looking for a server. Rune rage is also a nice idea, we'd have to see how other people react.
  10. Found a source for it. It's got some serious power in it, if they've got false positives to prevent people activating their product. Looks pretty comprehensive as well, but I'll stick with Avast thanks.
  11. Slightly off topic here, but the freeware Defraggler can do that if you configure it. There is a paid version as well with a few extra features, but the free version does a pretty good job. If you want a really powerful defragging tool, go for Auslogics defrag pro. It has really comprehensive defragging algorithms and does a pretty good job of defragging system files when set for a boot time defrag, thus handling those pesky system volume information files that you can't quite bring yourself to remove. Also, I do like CCleaner for registry management and clearing out cached files etc. Again, it's freeware, you can set a schedule if you want, but it's fast, it has great contolrs (so you can ignore cahced files for your browser etc if you want) and it lets you make backups of your registry each time you clean it, as well as saving those backups anywhere you like. But otherwise, I've had serious issues with Norton, namely that my friend purchased a legitimate activation code from a retailer, and it worked for all of about 2 hours. and he keeps getting full screen pop-ups from it asking him to activate or renew. (and it's legitimate Norton because firstly I haven't changed his anti-virus, secondly he wouldn't know how to do it and thirdly, it's what came pre-installed on the shop bought laptop.)
  12. Glad to help. As I say, those licenses for the top tier version of the program, they're expensive, but not too hard to get a hold of, if you can catch my oh so blatant drift.
  13. I always suggest you install the new program first, then remove the old. That way, you're still protected at all times but also remove the chance of a clash.
  14. Avast! (that's the actual name). I go for the top notch version every time, and It's easy to get a license with a long usage time (so it's kinda like a set and forget system). Great controls, let's you run questionable programs in a 'safe-mode' (called Sandbox) which isolates it from the OS but it behaves normally, has great functionality (i.e. silent mode, it's protecting you etc but no pop-ups; real-time scanning without performance hits, comprehensive controls for managing detected / quarantined items.
  15. Not sure who was affected by this, but I had already changed my password on the competitors site store being banned, and am now changing my password here as well. Always good to be safe.
  16. Zip and upload to dropbox, or filepi, or mediafire instead? (filepi is completely free, infinite storage in the cloud. But you have no control over the files after they're uploaded).
  17. Links to download illicit or illegal files or workarounds for software, or copyrighted material in general that you do not own a legitimate copyright possession or access agreement for, are prohibited.
  18. Well after that public admission I can say you're completely screwed.
  19. I'll have a look around some of my sources for a cheaper alternative to the Microsoft store, partly for me to upgrade from my failing version of office 07 enterprise. But I'll give you a heads up if I find anything. Oh, and as for the activators, I had issues with them not activating the product.
  20. Can we request certain types of Java instruction? I know I'm doing a computer science course at uni, but we've yet to start with Java. It's been Python and we're now doing VB.

    Rank?

I'm not sure to be honest. I expect yes, but let nuke or ntx make the final call.
