Ok, I think this is how you do it.
1= Water
2= Cobblestone
3= Lava

 

Do it like this:
1123

 

Or Water-Water-Cobblestone-Lava

Make is so it doesn't make obsidian.
Make a 5x5x4 cube and prim it so it looks like this.

Make it like this:

Notice the hole under the flowing water block.
Cobble will start to form once you break the dirt separating the two, and since the water won't flow, it won't contact the lava source, causing it to turn to obsidian.
Texture Pack is Sphax PureBDCraft, I just have not patched it. Once patched, it looks much better. I just dunno how to patch it. The blocks weren't lying when they called me a noob. Guess I won't be using it in SMP.

I used to use sphax, but I grew out of it. Download, and patch with MCPatcher. And I noticed when using this, sometimes the cobble falls in the lava source=fail.

Yeah, I realized after you posted that yes, the cobble sometimes falls in the lava. And I got the Texture pack patched, just wasn't looking enough. XD /enduselesspost
