help 4 buying a gaming pc

okay so im considering changing 2 gaming pc any suggestions on cheap laptops/pc's that can run game well plz leave ur comments below, ur help is much obliged .

Ill be honest... no such thing as a cheep gaming pc. you either by a cheep one and upgrade it slowly and complain the entire time of lagging and having to lower graphic settings, or you spend a lot of money and bitch it cost a lot.

 

As i was told, "buy on quality not price, with price your only happy at the till"

 

for specs to look at, go for 8gb of ram or better, i7 processor and up hard drive only has to be 500gb, could even be 250. you can always pick up a 1t external hard drive. Personaly i only go with asus computers but my last computer was custom built. Suggest you also pick up a gamers pad,  mine is a nt52. must have as the wasd and other controls are never that nice to play with.

You could proabally get away with an i5 and 6gb of ram for most games, but don't expect full settings on Battlefield, but that could run any COD game just fine.  Make sure if it is a laptop ot has a descrete or dedicated graphics card.  Desktop get a dedicated graphics card.  You will regret it if you get a pc with intergrated graphics.

You can try a penny auction site. They sell stuff extremely cheap, like 90% off. The catch is, all the bidders' bids actually go to the seller if they won it or not. That's how both the winner and the seller get a good deal. The losers feel ripped off.

i5 and 6GB of RAM can handle BF3 Ultra easily, just depends on what GFX card you have as well.

 

@Op, I strongly suggest not to buy a pre-built computer, it's huge waste of money, you're better off to build your own.

i7 is a waste of money for a gaming computer lol... Games are lightly threaded and respond much better to frequency than to multiple threaded architecture.

I gotta be honest. I'm not trying to be disrespectful but... No. Lmao Plain and simple dude you are wrong. I build computers and THERE IS such thing as a budget gaming build. DO NOT USE INTEL ON A BUDGET SYSTEM. Use another powerful quad core, the AMD phenom II x4 965. It is more powerful than the new 'bulldozer' 6 core AMD processors and is less money. it runs at around 100 dollars? then go with something like a radeon hd 6870. Lots of power in those components. Dude zayd Build your own. I can even build it for you! of course you probably won't trust me, and of course I understand. But if I get you a parts list and you don't know how to build. you could face a webcame towards all the parts and I could IM you all of the details about how to put it together. think about it... it costs less money for more power when you build it yourself. and YES intel has multithreading, but tbh what game is going to require 8 Cores? (4 cores + 4 cores from multithreading)

Once again I'm just trying to be informative here, Alienware is overpriced for what you get. The only to namebrand components are the video card and the CPU, the rest is generic, AKA, Runnable. Not for performance

Well if I were you, I'd get The HP Pavilion. It works perfectly when i record my computer screen and has a 8 GB RAM. Its pretty cheap too

8GB of DDR3 RAM should be enough for most games. If you're thinking of recording as well, consider  a dual or possibly even a triple HDD setup (but only if you want it). At least 500GB for the HDD I would say, so you don't run out of space too quickly. i5's are more specialised for gaming than i7's, but then the different architecture of more AMD CPUs means that you get slightly more power upfront for the sacrifice of more dynamic multitasking on the hyper-threaded Intel CPUs. AMD or nVidia GPUs are good, just depends on what you find. A card with at least 1GB of dedicated RAM should already have more than enough clock speed for most games so shouldn't be a problem. You can also get some pre-packaged GPU's from companies such as ASUS who have basically taken tha card from AMD or nVidia and stuck some fans and a fancy case on it before bumping up the price a little bit. For novice builders this is easier as it reduces the amount of wiring required but can limit your access to the PCI ports. You should get a PSU that exceeds your power requirements by 100W or so, leaving you with the ability to upgrade some of your parts without need a new PSU every time as well.

 

That pretty much sums up my knowledge of computer building. One last piece of advice though is to check (if you can) how compatible your choice of components are with each other to reduce the amount of driver re-coding you may need to do for your system to run properly. If something I have said is glaringly wrong (such as quoting computer specs etc) then please rectify me, otherwise know that this is just my knowledge and that you can pay as much or as little attention to it as you want, given it is your computer you are building, not mine.

If you're.building with amd you should always get the motherboard with the next generation cpu slot, because if you do that you can still use the previous generation. Like you can buy an am3+ mobo and use an am3 CPU. And the reason you would get the next generation mobo is that you could upgrade to that new generation of CPU and only replace the CPU it will save you a lot of money.

I'm planning on getting another computer (currently using my mom's MacbookPro), but they're hard to find the best one out there, I was just checking the Apple computers for comparison but you tell me about these specs: 2.0GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 - 8GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2x4GB) - 2X256GB Solid State Drive - Mac Mini. Not saying this is the best, but could you please recommend me any computers? Price isn't a problem. (Mom's Mac specs is: 2.3 GHz (dual) Intel Core i5 - 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3.)

Getting the X15 with the upgrades, Alien Ware seems really nice, but even though you NEED updates, they put a crap load of extra stuff just to sell it at a higher price.

Wait you bought Windows!?!?  Thats crazy, torrents work just as well and with the cracks tey have microsoft can never find out, I've never bought windows and I've installed Windows on new machines many many times.
