Beta Post... 10 (right?) - I'm Back
Hello! Guess who's back, after 3 years W4R! ![]()
I'm not a ghost, I swear, I'm finally back to doing some blogging! It's been a while, hasn't it? Three full years since my great disappearance (unless you use the Discord), but I've still been playing on the good ol' beta server building things that span... a lot of space. I'll show some of those things I built! It's going to be a lot, so grab something to drink and experience what I've been doing for three... long... grueling years. Hopefully it's not too much for my audience of... three people (is that being too generous?)
Section 1: Getting Personal (yes, there are sections to this)
Reading my older blogs, I realized I never shared what I did outside of playing beta Minecraft like the loner I am
. So, I'll be typing out a short, sweet, hopefully-not-that-long-but-pretty-lengthy summary of what I've done!
After the great departure that is Beta Post 9?! - The Great Return, I was entering the second year of my A-Levels; essentially a more advanced high school; and doing really good! However, I eventually decided to drop out of my Fine Arts course, in short, I hated it and would rather focus on my other courses: Psychology and English Language. I was admittedly really freaked out about failing but ended up passing with decent grades... despite the missing third course. The summer breaks were long, giving me ample opportunity to do nothing but play on the beta server and not blog! But besides not doing the blog, I was hard at work making videos and custom cursors for my Youtube channel, Nyan Neko Forever; it even has a website!! It was my main focus for years and as of the 17th of this month, it turned 5 years old!
Anyways, come the end of summer and I'm immediately in university for an Animation degree! It was in a great location: easy access to great food, amazing teachers, high-end equipment; except the course only started the year prior and I had a whooping total of... two classmates. 'That can't be right?' I hear you say (yeah buddy, YOU). The course was so new and difficult to search up, that a grand total of three people—one of them didn't make it in—figured out it even existed! However, it was a very fruitful year for me. I was able to create a DVD that is selling very well and later on, finished a 10-page comic that eventually got added to rereleases of said DVD! I got to learn how to use professional animation programs and even got to practice stop-motion animation. Only downside was the lack of classmates and the course only being two, very limiting years. A majority of the time, I was the only person in the classroom, but I oddly enjoyed that and was more productive than I've ever been since.
Eventually, I finished my first year and decided to swap universities... but, with my luck, I had to redo the first year due to the way financing was setup. But I didn't mind, it was the one of the top 20 animation universities in the world, after all! But one of the downsides was the type of people who got accepted into the course, a majority of my classmates didn't even know how to draw let alone knew the basics of animation. It felt, for lack of a better term not really, like a kindergarten where I'm the only 1st grader. Not much to talk about for this year besides my crippling addiction to collecting steelbooks and the two PS3's I bought to watch said steelbooks. I had my own dorm for the first time, too! It was miserable!
Now, to current day. I finished my first year—yet again—and currently trying to swap into another university—again... I think I'm the problem. ![]()
(I'm 22 btw)
Section 2: Beta Adventures
I really don't know where to start with this, I've built so many new things that I forgot when I even built them! So, I'll just give a little guide through some screenshots I've taken!

If you remember the last image I posted on the 9th blog entry, you probably recognized that I redid that screenshot but with what is there now! You can see how much new stuff there is and listing all the new stuff while take forever... which is why I'll list them all in this long blog post! The other images show the new small village extensions. The cathedral was a very difficult build; the limited block palette of beta made me think outside the box, but I'm happy with the final build. The third image is the newest extension and is much smaller but more packed with detail since I've improved so much over time! I'll get to the large tower and castle scene in the first image, but for now, let's move to the right and into Oak Village!

Oak Village is a very quaint village that has a total of 5 homes and more to come! This was my first big project after finishing Techno Castle, which I eventually decided to call Galix, it was meant to be a small transitionary area but grew into a locale I use to sleep and store items. The 3rd image shows a beautiful backyard that I'm super proud of. Such a small area yet it feels relaxing and lived in, I love that little yard. I own a house at the village, but if you ever join the server, take up one of the homes and make it your very own!

The good ol' central train station. Hey, you remember JupiterGalaxy700 right? Of course you do! I mentioned them in my very first blog post... you did read that, right? Well, I decided to rework the central rail and instead of having it be a floating rail line, I decided to put it underground which is what the first image is showing. The central line has 6 available lines, only 4 of which are actually in use, so feel free the take up the two remaining lines! So far, the lines don't go that far out but I hope to eventually have them go thousands of blocks out! The two other images show some of those rail lines, the third image showing one of the stations I've built! The bridge took forever to build and many... painful block placements (breaking stairs is torture in beta).

Now for that build tower that reaches height limit! I mentioned interest in building a great tower and, guess what, I built a castle instead! What... you thought I built the tower first? Nope, I used the ruins of an old castle and built probably my most detailed build on the server yet. I even through enough cobblestone to dent my stash by 5 percent! It's a huge build, bigger than some of the smaller villages I mentioned earlier. It's also around the time I realized how rare brown wool was and my sickly hunger to skin shear every brown sheep I saw began. You'd be shocked to hear I only have a stack and some of that chocolatey goodness. Oh... you want me to get back to that tower? ...You don't care about the castle?! Well, if that's how you feel
. The tower was relatively quick to build, I already knew what I wanted and just went for it. I wanted to make it interesting, so I had it bulge out towards the top to give a more unique shape and I think it looks amazing despite it being only made of cobblestone blocks! The spire reaching the limit makes it easy to see from anywhere on the server as long as it's in render distance and you're looking in that direction!!!

This will be the last thing I talk about for this section, a beautiful oceanside town outside the castle from above. It has 5 homes and an impressive archway that houses the guards of the town. There is even a small wagon behind one of the buildings! These buildings were tough and outside of what I usually build, but I found it fun to build and experiment with styles I usually avoid. As for the third image, it shows a train station called the Rustic Station. It was the first build I did in creative (1.2.5 version of minecraft) before building it in the sever. The green wool was annoying to obtain but it was necessary for the build! I had to hunt for cactus and dye sheep like there was no tomorrow! The station connects back to the central station and even connects to Galix's main station! It's probably the most interconnected station in the server!
Section 3: What Next?
I'll eventually be entering my second year of university soon and will be on a vacation in Florida a few days after this post. So, I won't be able to update for a good month. But I plan on returning to blog weekly and to keep up to date with what I'm doing on the beta server
. Very exciting isn't it! After my long three-year hiatus, the great W4R returns to his throne to rule over the plebians that live on MY land!!! Sorry... got a bit power hungry there for a second. But I hope that my three, maybe less, readers look forward to my blog returning like the good old days many years ago. I have big plans and ambitions for the server, some that may take weeks, some that may take a few hours. Whatever they are, I plan on building until I burn myself out and/or need to focus on university instead of playing a block game... maybe that last part is more important.
Well, I hope you enjoyed reading my blog and look forward to my great return!!
