Items should stay restricted for they throttle game progression and make this enjoyable to play. Removing them disregards the meta game implications and will surely be a problem down the road.

Id say leave it, but make it possible for non-donors to obtain non-craftable items.

 

Like instead of a bucket needing 3 iron ingots, you would need 30 ingots. etc...etc..etc...

 

Can be easily obtained with any ChestShop plugin (Trading signs)

I say bring back odds for diamonds and kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Giving them a easier access to donation items and giving them a reason to go mining diamond. To me its no brainer.
