We have resolved the issues on one of our dedi’s. To give more information on what happened. On August 25th, we did a routine batch of security updates on one of our Linux dedicated servers. After rebooting the server it having issues booting back up due to a faulty package update.This affected our Beta Server, Valheim, and Age of Rebirth.
After quite extensive attempts to rescue the environment, we elected to reinstall everything (of course after taking a full backup of the data). We were able to restore everything successfully and no data was lost. We’ve already put into place some measures to prevent this from happening again with the related system packages on both our dedicated servers. We are also currently working on some backup stuff behind the scenes that will make this less painful moving forward, if we were to run into issues.
I have indicated to Halo, that I do also plan on having more of a role again on the server in terms of server management. I also do plan to start getting involved in terms of helping with fixing bug so that not all the issues lie solely on his plate.
If anyone happens to notice any issues, raise it with a staff member so we can take a look.
