Well, from votes in-game and just ease of setup, we have chosen to make a Modded MC server as our next service.

Since there are about a million different modpacks, we are taking a vote on which one should be server'd.

Be aware that most of these are at 1.7.10 or lower, as many mods aren't updated yet.

As for wanting to be on good terms, a name change would do this. Or we could wait and get cu.com and then we'd have full ownership of CU. The same effect would happen if Teddy showed up and gave us the green light. He owns the domain, so he is the one who owns CU. If we get the domain, we own CU. Take this message -blam!- sent me after I asked if there was any way we could keep the CU name:

 

There is no scenario under which I'm comfortable seeing you use the Chaotic United name.

Even if teddy agreed to it i'd say arguably its none of his work he'd be handing out but he still 'owns' it of course so while that would be uncomfortable still, there's no claims we could really make about it.

 

Eitherway none of the people involved in this discussion would feel 'OK' seeing you using the CU name and image because in the end, its our hard work that went in there. At this point if we want to collaborate as communities I think accepting CU is not an option is good grounds to be moving forward on.

Okay, some things have happened behind the scenes that everyone needs to know.

I got home yesterday and there was a message left on my phone. It was from -blam!-. He didn't call and just fly off the handle or even slightly angry. He just wanted to clear a few things up. Here are the main things he said:

• I have more of an adult mindset out of the 3 core admins of CU atm (me, Michael, Alycat)
• I need to try and put a stop to the walls of text on ND.
• The ND staff is willing to help CU out but there are a few roadblocks (biggest of which is the name "Chaotic United" itself)
• He also apologized for some of his words to me during our conversation on ND.

Later tonight, I will be speaking with -blam!-, MRtangerine(ZacSkittles), and possibly Michael over a private TeamSpeak server. Keep in mind the following changes may take effect:

• A long lasting (or permanent) name change
• Staff cuts/additions

Now, since I, Michael, and Alycat are opposed to a name change, I want to ask you guys what you think of it.

There are three ways we could keep the CU name:

1. Contacting Killerteddy and getting his permission
2. Ignoring ND entirely
3. Make large changes to the community as a whole (staff, etc) and get ND to agree

If we do not do any of these three then CU will be renamed. I do not plan to make any decisions anytime soon. However, there is one massive roadblock that a name change would cause:

Michael has prepared a resignation letter in the event of things going downhill. He has already shown me said letter, and says that if the conversation goes south, he will stop hosting CU's servers and RuleTech Games + Demoria Online will be broken away from CU permanently.

Alycat has threatened to quit CU if I change the name. Plus if I do, there are others who are waiting to see if we succeed in bringing CU back.

The decision is ultimately up to me, but I want every single CU player, donator, staff, and manager's input on what we should do.

Like I am setting up we also have a in game system thingy, its for Xbox 360, working it out, but it allows everyone to play together online.

We have several new plugins added to the server:

RestartMe - This is a plugin that can allow an easy way to restart the server, but was an edited version of NukeRestart. Michael rewrote the entire plugin (not sure why). According to Michael, no original source code remains (or very little).

AutoIn - This plugin fixes the long lived skin issue, where we had a server full of steves. This plugin fixes that, however there have been multiple players who were unable to login. If this happens to you, simply use a different username. There have yet to be any incidents with those who actually paid for Minecraft.

There are other plugins added, but those are to be kept private. Sorry.

We had an incident where a member was banned permanently for spamming /suicide

Please be aware in the future that no more than a 5 minute temp ban is needed for something so silly. This is what I have tried to get away from, one of the very founding principles of this community's comeback.

Alycat feels better! ^.^ sorta. Got alot I will be working out for CU, INCLUEDS, a xboxlive gameplay app... No spoilers for this yet also, making minicamps and things compatible for 1.7.10 and all with redstone compatible for singlal players, and some other cool in game add ons, now WHILE I work hard on this stuff, note if you manange to download and stuff, And you wana distribute it, GIMMI CREDIT, cause all this will be thought out a done by trail and error, I wont use anyone's stuff unless you msg me the idea and I will give you credit and see if I can make your idea work, alot of other things I shall work on, purhaps not just mc.

Just FYI, Chaotic United is NOT having anything Xbox-related other than just discussion, which is already implemented.

As most of the staff know, this past weekend has been rough on us. I am considering taking a small break from it all in order to recover. There was an incident that occurred which left an air of depression and darkness surrounding the CU staff. Some of you know what it is, three of you were involved directly. If you don't know, or weren't there Saturday, you won't be told. It is for security reasons of the person involved. And I promised that person that I wouldn't be the one to spread the information. If you know of this, do not tell anyone, at all, ever, or you will be at the least removed from staff, and most likely banned from CU for a long time. If you are a staff member, you are not required to attend to normal duties (not that there are actually any anyway). Could be a while before that happens, so far it's proving to be a royal pain in the ass to obtain players. But keep in mind, there is normally a fair amount of activity, though nowhere near the 200 player cap. This is probably due to the recent events that has resulted in almost the entirety of the Chaotic United staff holding back a bit to recover.

As of yesterday, Hurricane Craft has joined Chaotic United. I personally registered the domain hurricanecraft.com again and then made it point here.

There was also a day-long dispute about United AlyCraft being dropped, that has been revoked. United AlyCraft has rejoined Chaotic United.
